New Space

I’m moving house!

It’s like I’m an adult or something. What a ridiculous notion.

I’m happily planning my new bedroom and am using Pinterest to brainstorm ideas. I’m pretty sure that I’m just going to move all of my stuff in and the suitcases and boxes will be all over the place for ages and it won’t be exactly as I’d planned – but I fully intend to become some kind of crazy decorating lady and annoy everybody in the flat with my monochrome colour schemes and handmade cushions. It’s gonna be awesome.

I’m pretty sad to say goodbye to my little Uni’ room and thought I’d share some pictures of it before I start packing everything up. I have accumulated a mountain of stuff and I’m not exactly sure how I’m going to get it all downstairs – let alone halfway across London, but I’m pretty good at batting my eyelids and flashing my puny muscles so I’m sure some kind soul will help me out (;

I’ll miss that view, I’ll miss my crazy pinboard, I’ll even miss my teeny tiny wardrobe – which made materialism a challenging vice for me to maintain! – and I’ll definitely miss having a fridge in easy reach of my desk!

I’m so excited to move though. I can’t wait to live in a big house with loads of friends, and steal Imogen’s butter (she’ll always have butter, she’s the Queen of the world), get Chelsey’s style advice 24/7 (she helped me pick the shoes I wore to the party in Ireland), be able to hear eclectic radio from Scott’s bedroom (that boy is nothing if not eclectic), and I’ll never be more than a staircase away from the nicest Mojitos I’ve ever had,  (thanks to our first house decision: build a bar in the basement) if I can sweet talk Tom into making me one!

It’s gonna be rad.

So far my plans for my new space are relatively simple – lots of natural light, and a predominantly white colour scheme with monochrome accents and bright pops of colour. I have dreams of tasteful wall art and minimalist flower arrangements in front of regimented bookshelves, but I’m more of a messy, cluttered, sprawling kind of person, and I think I can live with that.

Above: 1 and 4: I think I’m going to make bright flowers out of paper because I am the absolute worst at remembering to water those things! 2: I’m going to make curtains out of bedsheets. Even if I already have curtains in my room. And even if they’re really nice. It’s just a dream of mine (I’m the lamest person in the whole world) 3: I think these simple framed wall quotes are so gorgeous and would be easy to DIY! 5: I’m going to get a can of yellow spray paint and it’s going to be glorious.

I can’t wait!

Big Love, PV x
